NMRC organises the NMRC Awards Ceremony and Research Symposium annually and this event encompasses the presentation of awards to outstanding Clinician Scientists and provides a platform to showcase ongoing research and NMRC-funded projects. It is an opportunity for interaction amongst the research scientists, clinical communities and industry players. The expected number of participants for the event is about 300 to 400 and it is attended by senior government officials, clinicians, researchers, scientists and senior representatives from the healthcare institutions, research institutes and healthcare/biomedical industry stakeholders.
For this year’s event, we are planning to showcase the various research programmes including the Translational Clinical Research (TCR) flagship programmes and feature outstanding Clinician Scientists as well as discussion on various aspects of biomedical research. Permanent Secretary (Health) will be invited as the Guest-of-Honour to grace this event. There will be theme-based concurrent sessions based on the 5 therapeutic areas identified as national priorities under the RIE2020 strategy (Cancers, Cardiovascular diseases, Diabetes mellitus and related metabolic/ endocrine disorders, Infectious diseases, and Neurological and sense disorders), together with a Health Services Research (HSR) and a Clinical Research/Industry session.
